Hand Rivet Nut Tools & Rivet Nut Kits

TORCHMARK hand rivet nut tools and rivet nut kits — a 14-inch manual rivet nut setter with interchangeable mandrels (M3–M12), plus rivet nut inserts, blind rivets and threaded stud bolts. OEM / private-label for distributors and importers.

Hand Rivet Nut Tools & Rivet Nut Fasteners

A 14-inch manual rivet nut tool that adds a load-bearing thread to thin sheet metal from one accessible side — supplied with M3–M12 mandrels, rivet nut inserts, blind rivets and threaded stud fasteners. Built for distributors, hardware importers and private-label programs.

A hand rivet nut tool exists to solve one job that welding, tapping and a plain nut cannot: putting a strong, reusable thread into thin sheet metal when only one side of the panel is reachable. Where you cannot weld a nut and the metal is too thin to tap, a rivet nut insert — a nut insert, or rivnut — is set into a drilled hole and deforms to grip the sheet from behind. The tool that sets it decides whether that thread holds for a thousand cycles or spins out on the third use.
We build this range in Yuyao, Zhejiang and supply distributors, hardware importers, repair-tool suppliers and private-label brands worldwide. This page covers the two halves of the job that must be bought together: the manual hand rivet nut tools that set the insert, and the rivet nut and rivet fasteners — rivet nut inserts, blind rivets and threaded stud bolts — that go into the joint. Ordering tool and fastener from one factory is how you keep the thread size and the rivet size matched.

What a professional hand rivet nut tool is judged on

Buyers who specify rivet nut tools for resale judge them on five things, and price comes after all five:
  • Enough leverage for steel and stainless inserts. A rivet nut only holds if it is collapsed fully against the sheet. Aluminium sets easily; hardened steel and A2/A4 stainless fight back. A short tool bottoms out early and leaves a loose insert. The long-handle 14-inch format multiplies hand force so the same tool sets aluminium, steel and stainless cleanly.
  • Interchangeable mandrels that cover the sizes you sell. One threaded insert size per kit is a dead SKU. The kit has to carry the mandrels for the common metric threads (M3 to M12) so a distributor serves the whole panel market from one box, with inch threads on request.
  • A stroke you can adjust, and a clean set every time. Setting too little leaves the insert proud and loose; setting too much over-bulges the sheet and cracks it. Mandrel threading, stroke adjustment and handle pivot must be consistent from unit to unit — that is what we sample-check before every volume order.
  • A complete kit, retail-ready. Tool, mandrels, assorted inserts, wrench and case in one pack is what a hardware retailer and a private-label program want on the shelf. OEM colour, logo and instruction language make it your own.
  • The fasteners to match. A tool supplier who also supplies the inserts, blind rivets and stud bolts removes the mismatch risk — the M6 mandrel, the M6 rivet nut and the M6 bolt all come from the same quality conversation.
Each group below is built to these criteria and is available in the thread sizes, materials and branding your market already sells.

The range in this collection

1. Manual hand rivet nut tools — LR-HR-09 14-inch kit

The LR-HR-09 is a 14-inch manual long-handle rivet nut tool, supplied as a 150-piece set with the tool, interchangeable mandrels, an assortment of rivet nut inserts, a wrench and a blow-moulded case. The long-handle format is the point: it gives the extra leverage that a compact tool cannot, so the same tool sets soft aluminium and hard stainless inserts without a separate heavy-duty unit. It is aimed at automotive repair, HVAC installation, sheet-metal fabrication, equipment maintenance and general workshop use, and at the distributors, hardware importers and repair-tool suppliers who resell into those trades.
Because the exact mandrel set and insert material must match your market, the kit is configured per order: tell us the metric or inch threads you sell most and the aluminium, steel or stainless inserts you stock, and we confirm the mandrel sizes and insert grade before production. We sample-check mandrel threading, stroke adjustment, handle alignment, pivot movement and insert setting before any volume run.
Manual rivet nut tool — 37 cm (14.6") closed length, 50 cm (19.7") open spanTR-RIV blind rivets (pop rivets) — dome head, Ø 3.2 / 4.0 / 4.8 / 6.4 mm

2. Rivet nut inserts and blind rivets — the fasteners

The insert is the whole point of the tool, so we supply it directly. Rivet nut inserts are offered in carbon steel (zinc-plated) for general sheet metal and value-sensitive assemblies, and in A2 (304) and A4 (316) stainless for outdoor, marine and corrosion-critical work, across M3 to M12 metric coarse threads with flat, small and countersunk heads and round, knurled or hex shanks. Knurled and hex shanks bite into the base material to resist rotation under repeated bolt torque, which matters wherever a fastener will be removed and refitted.
Where a rivet nut gun is impractical — thin HVAC ducting, louvres and light enclosures — the TR-RIV blind rivet (pop rivet) is the correct permanent one-side fastener. The line covers Ø 3.2 / 4.0 / 4.8 / 6.4 mm with a 1.6–12.0 mm grip range, in aluminium body / steel mandrel, all-stainless 304/316 and zinc-plated steel, with dome, large-flange and countersunk heads, to DIN 7337, ISO 15983 and IFI-114. Standard finishes are plain, zinc-plated (blue/white) and passivated stainless.
Rivet nut material and hole size must be matched: a soft base panel calls for a slightly smaller hole, a steel panel a slightly larger one. We confirm insert grade, hole size and grip range against your panel before the order ships. There is a worked size chart in our rivet nut size & grip guide.

3. Threaded stud bolts — TR-STS

For the same distributors who sell rivet nuts into structural and equipment work, the TR-STS threaded stud bolt covers the heavy end of the fastener range: ASTM A193 B7 / B8 / B8M / B16, ISO 898-1 8.8 / 10.9 / 12.9 and ASTM A307-A grades, in diameters M6 to M64 and lengths from 40 mm to 300 mm, for flange joints, pressure equipment, structural connections and anchor bolts. They ship in 25 kg woven bags, 20–25 kg export cartons (ISPM-15), retail boxes of 10 / 25 / 50 pieces with EAN-13 barcodes, or blister / hanging cards for in-store merchandising.

* Hole diameter should sit just above the nut body (roughly +0.1 to +0.3 mm) so the insert enters freely but does not loosen. Grip range and hole size vary by head and shank style and by manufacturer tooling — treat this table as a reference and confirm the exact figures on your RFQ.

Frequently asked questions

What is a hand rivet nut tool used for?
A hand rivet nut tool sets a threaded rivet nut (nut insert, or rivnut) into thin sheet metal, plastic or composite so a bolt can be fastened from one accessible side. It adds a load-bearing thread to panels too thin to tap — common in automotive repair, HVAC ducting, electrical enclosures, trailers, signage and appliances.
What rivet nut sizes does the LR-HR-09 kit cover?
It is a 14-inch manual rivet nut tool supplied as a 150-piece set with interchangeable mandrels for the common metric threads from M3 to M12, plus assorted inserts, a wrench and a moulded case. Inch threads and specific insert materials are confirmed for your exact order.
How do I choose the right rivet nut for my sheet thickness?
Match the grip range to the panel: M3 about 0.5–3.0 mm, M4 0.5–4.0 mm, M5 0.5–4.5 mm, M6 0.5–5.0 mm, M8 1.0–6.0 mm, M10 1.0–6.5 mm and M12 1.5–7.0 mm. Drill the hole to match the nut body (M6 around 9.0 mm). Confirm against the grade and head style you buy.
Can your tool set steel and stainless rivet nuts?
Yes. The 14-inch long-handle format provides the leverage a hardened steel or stainless A2/A4 insert needs, where a short tool struggles. Tell us the insert material you set most and we confirm the mandrel hardness and tool configuration.
Do you supply the rivet nuts, blind rivets and stud bolts too?
Yes — the consumables as well as the tools: rivet nut inserts in zinc-plated carbon steel and A2/A4 stainless, TR-RIV blind rivets from Ø 3.2 to 6.4 mm (DIN 7337 / ISO 15983 / IFI-114), and TR-STS threaded stud bolts to ASTM A193 and ISO 898-1. Ordering the tool and the fasteners together keeps the thread and rivet sizes matched.
Why does a rivet nut spin or come loose?
Usually the hole is too large or the gripset is too shallow, so the insert never collapses against the sheet. A hole more than about 0.2 mm oversize can cut anti-torque resistance by around 20%. Match the drill size to the nut body and set the insert fully; our export team will confirm the correct hole and grip for your panel.
Can you do OEM / private label and custom packaging?
Yes — custom tool colour, logo marking, instruction language, retail packaging and master-carton marks for the tool, and private-label labels and custom packaging for the fasteners. Samples are confirmed against your specification before production.
What is the MOQ?
Minimum order quantity differs by SKU and finish, and small-batch private-label runs are supported. Tell us the model mix and quantity and we confirm the MOQ and lead time.
