Flaring Tools Made in Ningbo
Torchmark is a Ningbo manufacturer of flaring tools for copper and aluminium tubing, serving HVAC, refrigeration and plumbing distributors with 45° single and eccentric flaring tools, large-size tools and complete kits.
What We Produce
Our flaring range includes 45° flaring tools in several sizes, eccentric (offset) flaring tools for tight spaces, large-size flaring tools, and kits with clamps and deburring accessories. Custom specs and private-label packaging are supported.
Manufacturing & QC
Flaring bars and yokes are machined and inspected for flare angle and surface finish so joints seal without cracking. Per-lot checks cover flare geometry and thread fit; records are available on request.
What Separates One Flaring Tool Range From Another
Two kits can list the same die sizes and behave very differently on the bench. The differences are in the cone, the clamp and the yoke — the parts that decide whether the flare is concentric, work-hardened or split. These are the features worth putting into a specification sheet.
Cone geometry and forming method
A fixed 45° cone presses the tube end outward in one movement; an eccentric cone rolls it, which reduces the forming force and the tendency to work-harden the lip. On harder tube or thin-wall material the rolling action produces a more consistent seat. Eccentric flare tools are specified where that repeatability matters.
Clamp bar grip and alignment
If the tube slips in the clamp while the cone advances, the resulting flare is off-centre no matter how good the cone is. Jaw hardness, serration condition and yoke alignment under load are the checks that matter. Ask what the supplier uses to verify alignment and how often jaws are replaced.
Size system and spare parts
Inch and metric dies that are nominal-equivalent are not always interchangeable. The inch vs metric guide explains the mismatch risk. Confirm the full die set, the availability of replacement cones and jaws, and whether a double-flare adapter is part of the platform.
Specification Sheet for a Flaring Tool Order
Send these fields together at enquiry stage. They map directly to the RFQ checklist and reduce sample rounds.
Field | Specify | Verification |
|---|---|---|
Angle | 45° SAE or 37° JIC | Angle gauge on sample flare |
Tube OD set | Every required inch / metric size | Die list against PO |
Cone type | Fixed or eccentric | Sample flare on your own tube |
Tube condition | Soft / half-hard copper, aluminium | Split-rate check |
Spares | Jaws, cones, adapters | Tooling and spare-parts list |
Questions Buyers Ask Before Ordering
Can we order a mixed die set for two markets?
Yes — list both size systems and the required packaging split at enquiry stage so the carton plan and documents match. MOQ is available on request for the actual configuration.
How should we approve a production run?
Agree a golden sample made on your own tube, with measured flare diameter and seat width, then reference it in the purchase order. The sample approval checklist lists the fields.
Do you supply spare cones and clamp jaws?
Yes, flaring tool accessories are ordered alongside the initial tool for most distributor ranges. Lead time and MOQ are available on request.
What compliance documents can be provided?
Material declarations, test reports and any market-specific documentation are available on request against a named SKU and destination. We do not publish certification lists without confirming scope.
Frequently Asked Questions
What flare angles do you make?
Standard 45° flaring tools, plus eccentric 45° tools for offset and confined installations.
Can you flare both copper and aluminium?
Yes, our flaring tools are used on copper and soft aluminium tubing common in HVAC and refrigeration lines.
Do you provide sample and inspection reports?
Sample approval and per-lot inspection records are available on request before and during production.
